F-Dun Olive LDO

Fish living in flat water sections of the rivers have plenty of time to study your fly and prefer in general more sparse dressed flies with less volume. This pattern is a twist of several styles, the F stands for Fratnik (Marjan Fratnik), who invented the F-Fly back in 1980. This fly however is quite different with tails, legs, dubbed thorax and body of silk. This fly merges traditional materials with modern thinking. Flies are tied on Fasna F-100 barbless dry fly hook, a hook with great relations between strength and weight.

The Olive-LDO is a great all-round dark olive color that matches Baetis Rhodani well on many locations. And remember they do come in several sizes! The ones hatching in spring in UK and Scandinavia can often be size 14. Other places a 16 is more normal, in southern parts of Europe such as Spain the 18 is a go to size. And when fall comes a second generation often hatch and they are smaller than the ones in spring, so be sure to have size 18s also if you fish in northern Europe
